Bikini Contest's
Bikini Contest's
Surf's Up this month with the celebration of the first day of Spring, March 20, 2006. Is it too early to start celebrating the beginning of the Spring season? Well, the time is really perfect, regardless if we still have some snow on the ground in some states. We could take advantage and start to get ready now for this coming summer season, and also re-affirm our committment to exercizing more at home and/or at the gym. In addition this is the perfect opportunity to start preparing for this coming season bikini contest's that are being held across the country and in Europe. Young adults are usually the most enthusiastic in these events since it could also open doors to other career opportunities. Many participants may already be interested in professional sports, modeling, fashion design, beauty pageants, airline industry positions, or some in professional body building. Sports Illustrated swimsuit models have later found very rewarding careers due to the advertizing exposure, and many had their start in small competitive events. One of our swimsuit manufacturers pointed out the need for more male swimsuit models in the United States. So, perhaps new talent in this field may surface this coming year, even if as a part-time hobby. In our next segment we will discuss in more detail why women influenced mostly both tanning and swimsuit history.
Bikini Contest's and Swimsuit Competitions have attracted individuals that in general enjoy and love sports. Many started at an early age with fitness routines that kept them in great shape and then for fun specially during a warm summer season decided to compete. This normally with family or friends encouraging them to participate. Spring and summer sport events are also great for parents that wish to motivate their young adults or teens to stay in shape and to find positive outlets. Parents that supported their teens even if at least once a week at school, or took some time to take them to the local pool or gym will later enjoy to see them become healthier adults. In the early 70's I had to practically beg my parents, and specially my dad to allow me to get my very first black sexy bikini. I only lived about 20 minutes or less to the beach, participated in sports, had excellent grades and still had to beg to get one. I was very excited that summer and had tons of fun until time arrived for me to go to college in New York. Of course I had to clean my room, continue to strive to do well or if not then I would not be allowed to go to the beach with my friends or wear my precious swimsuit. To this day I am very grateful and cherish both the discipline and the joy in those great bikini days of young adulthood. Later as adults we will have many more responsibilities and less time for outdoor or summer activities. So, enjoy your spring and summer, cherish each day by staying positive and plan some time for your workouts. Congratulations on your bikini dreams or future swimsuit competition events.
Tanning, Swimsuits, and Sunless tanning lotions
Fashion The discovery of tanning occured by accident and it took the world of fashion by storm. Sun tanning then became so popular and done so frequently that in order to prevent excessive sun damage, sunless tanning lotions came into the market to help satisfy this new passion. We can thank the talented Coco Chanel for discovering and igniting the tan sensation both in Europe and the US. She developed tanned skin while on vacation, on the deck of a yacht going from Paris to Cannes France. As she arrived at her destination wearing one of her designs, the press and audience complemented how nice her skin looked and even thought that this was part of her new fashion statements. However, it just happened by accident that her skin got a tan, and soon enough women started to give up their parasols and bathing bloomers. This occured in the 1920's specially when there was a lot of new excitement and prosperity. Soon after and more towards 1929, women wanted to dress more casually daily and specially during hot summer months. The parasols and fans were used to keep cool since prior fashions were more elaborate, longer and more confining and very hot to wear. This is why Coco Chanel's new designs were so gladly received. Designer Jean Patou also introduced a new swimsuit that was the precursor to todays micro bikini, so women could reveal more tan. Sun tanning suddenly became a symbol of wealth and outdoor leisure.
Brown and beige tinted powders were later created to extend the look closer to fall, and also to cover areas of missing tan. In later years tanning salons emerged to extend the look over into winter, however when used excessively the sunless tanners got better and made a big come back. Today we now have the very popular spray tanning and airbrush tanning booths and systems to help complement UV-light booth or sun bathing. We should also thank american born singer Josephine Baker that caused a great sensation in Paris during the same time as Chanel, both with her talent, entertaiment and beautiful black skin. The city of Paris fell in love with her uniqueness, self-confidence and talent. It goes to teach us that there is something positive to be found in every story and time in history. Even in the world of tanning and tan skin we found ways to make it safer and better. Perhaps we could apply this to other aspects in our present society. Enjoy your spring and thanks so much for visiting with us. Thanks so much for your support. I truly appreciate it.
