Surf's Up

Surf's Up this winter and new year with some basic information on skin care. This is the perfect time to pay more attention to our skin care needs. During colder months our skin gets more exposure to cold wind, heat, dryness and loss of surface moisture. We may also tend to do less physical activities or exercize routines which often helps circulate more oxygen and nutrients to the cells. Perspiration during vigorous exercize helps eliminate toxins in the body and on the surface of the skin. Exercize, nutrition and the added oxygenation at this time will make the skin glow and look more moist as if sun-kissed by a perfect Spring Day. A more basic natural skin care product may be perfect during this time, however a more nutrient rich facial skin care product is best for winter. Environment and heredity also plays a role on how our skin reacts to seasonal temperature changes. Even if the environment is perfect, hereditary factors may come into play and still affect the skin unfavorably. Skin acne for example could be inherited, but do better in a more favorable environment that is not too hot. This is why we have different skin care products in the market. Everyone reacts different to changes in the weather and levels of physical inactivity. Individuals that grew up eating a healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables may fair better later on in life. For example, inner city children may tend to consume more carbonated sugar rich beverages. Kids living in more tropical climates where there are plenty of natural fruits and fresh juice available may grow up with healthier stimulated skin. Vitamin C stimulates the fibroblasts in the dermis to produce collagen. Sugar in the other hand causes cross-linking and damages the collagen fibers. Have you seen what happens when some sugar is placed on top of a ham while baking in the oven? It will brown and make the surface of the ham kind of hard or cross linked. The sugar cross links with the protein content in the ham as it could do with collagen proteins in skin. Here is where skin restoration products came in and flourished in the market. Not everyone lives in the most perfect environment or has the best hereditary factors at work. A good skin care specialist however will make sure that in addition to cosmeceuticals or special treatment products the client could have access to other basic skin care needs. For example, a cosmeceutical could be applied around the eyes and mouth while a more basic skin care treatment or cream is applied all over the rest of the face. A basic moisturizing soap is just as good to use when a client is using other more expensive skin care treatments or anti-aging products. Every client is different and offering alternatives and personal fun choices is great. This is one reason I also recommend sunless tanning products. The look of a tan without the burning rays of the sun seems like a good idea. Our sunless products have natural botanicals to include real aloe in the base. This new year 2006 make a commitment to visit us more often. We are having some awesome new products to include some private label and this year is one of the very best in swimwear. Some styles were so cute that I had tears of joy in my eyes or better yet visions of being at the beach. Thank goodness I also have an active imagination, dream and also have a bath tub if I get desperate enough. YeAH!!!!!!!!!my friend Sabina and I are planning a vacation trip to the beach. No matter how long it takes perhaps we will make it there. I was also invited to visit Florida this summer and it sounds like a great idea. Lets make the year 2006 the best ever for ourselves. In the mist of work, responsibilities, caring for our world and families lets take some time out to enjoy ourselves, nature, and the now moment. My best wishes to all in this great year.

Belts are in and James Bond style swimsuits, special details in the fabrics, two different types of fabrics together working as one. Designers got super creative at the end of -05- and are rolling in creativity even more this year. This tends to happen after a darker period has past.Perhaps after hearing so much about war, destruction and death we have a subconscious need for beauty and life. Its amazing to see so much careful detail in the garments. Its refreshing just like spontaneous laughter. For those who are collectors of special garments this is a very good year. I clearly see why some pieces of fabric are displayed in some museums for some garments are like works of art. I wish to thank all designers. We get to sell your creations, display them, cherish them, place the images in our web pages but the true credit goes to you the designer. For it is you that sat and had the vision of what you created for us and we picked the design for we shared the same vision of that which you saw in your mind and displayed. Thanks so much for the work that you do. Even if times are a bit difficult we can still dream and have a great vision of the future. Positive creative energy is in the air this year with new optimism.

News and technology

The euro seems to be the popular currency wanting to stick around however many wish to preserve that which is special and unique to an individual country. Why do we go on vacations? Why do we go to restaurants that cook different types of meals than the ones at home? Its refreshing to share the uniqueness of another culture. Imagine if all countries where the same and lived exactly the same. What would we do without margaritas, french wine or cheese(maybe skip the cheese) but why pay with the same money. I personally enjoy the look of our dollar. I would never like to have canadian money as my currency but I enjoy the uniqueness of it when I visit Canada. If I would go to England why have another currency that is not historically British? What is next? No more London tea? Give to Ceasar what is of Ceasar, that which is British to the Brits, Italian to the Italians, Turkish to the Turks etc. and just enjoy that which is different but positive in all of us, sharing our individuality and humanity.
